Dr. Karisangal Vasudevan Ramaswamy is a highly experienced Liver Transplant and HPB Surgeon with more than two decades of expertise in Surgical Gastroenterology, Liver Transplantation, and complex Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery. He has been involved in over 1,500 liver transplant surgeries and has extensive experience in living donor liver transplantation, complex hepatobiliary procedures, and open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Vasudevan has played a key leadership role in establishing and developing liver transplant programs at several major hospitals in India and internationally. His professional journey includes senior positions at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, PSRI, Jaypee Hospital, and other leading institutions. He has also contributed to developing liver transplantation services and training medical teams at emerging transplant centres. Currently, he serves as Director of Liver Transplantation and HPB Surgery Services at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Noida, formerly Jaypee Hospital. His primary clinical interests include HPB surgery and liver transplantation, with particular emphasis on living donor liver transplantation. Alongside his clinical work, he has been actively involved in postgraduate teaching, surgical training, research, scientific publications, and national and international medical conferences. His long-term professional vision is focused on developing centres of excellence in liver transplantation and surgical gastroenterology, training future surgeons, advancing clinical research and technology, and delivering high-quality liver care comparable with leading centres worldwide.
